Intelligent Irish Water Spaniels

The Irish Water Spaniels were created by Justin McCarthy. These dogs were spotted in his kennel in Ireland. He never mentioned from what breed of dogs these Irish Water Spaniels came from. The Irish Water Spaniels Came from. Breeders have speculated that they were products of crossbreeding poodles and Portugese Water Dogs. These dogs were seen in the year 1834.There are two kinds of Irish Water Spaniels, One of these kind possesses a curly coat. The first type of these dogs were show dogs. The other kind is known for field activities. To this date, these dogs are well known as show dogs and for their working capabilities.

The Irish Water Spaniels are the biggest of it's kind. The heads of these dogs are long, squared and huge. Their muzzles are deep and they have moderate stops..Their noses are dark yellowish brown. Their teeth are joined together in even bites. These dogs have little brown eyes that resemble the shape of almonds. .Irish Water Spaniels have long ears that are set low. Their ears are seen hanging near their heads and are enclosed with loose curls. They are deep chested but their chests are rather slender. The front legs of these dogs are straight while their rear parts are a bit higher than their shoulders. Their coats are long and enclosed with long loose curls. The curly outer coats of these dogs have thick undercoats. It acts like a shield in the event of cold weather. Irish Water Spaniels have knots of curls on top of their heads.

Irish Water Spaniels are intelligent, faithful, and highly spirited dogs. These dogs are confident and they are willing to satiisfy the wants of their owners. They are quite adept at learning new things. They are adorable and loving dogs for any family. These dogs must be given mental and physical exercises. This is the only way to keep these dogs from doing things that owners will not like. Owners must show that they are the pack leaders. This is the best way for owners to show that they are the boss..Socialize these dogs with the whole family when they are young. Doing this will make them closer to the family. Teach your young children to be pack leaders. These are normally quiet dogs. They only bark when it becomes a necessity. They will do so, only to warn families if there are strangers within their area. Some of them could be good guard dogs. These dogs are excellent swimmers and they are packed with a lot of stamina. They have an exceptional sense of smell. .These dogs love to communicate with their owners.
Irish Water Spaniels will reach heights of 20 – 23 inches.and they will weigh as much as 45 – 65 pounds.

Irish Water Spaniels are susceptible to health issues like: hip dysplasia, hypothyroidism, eye entropion and ear infections.

Irish Water Spaniels will be at their best living in the countryside or in homes that have big yards. These dogs need space to roam around. If you have yards, make sure that it is properly fenced.

Irish Water Spaniels need to go out with their owners for long daily walks. Make sure that they are properly leashed. These dogs are known for their hunting capabilities. When walking, these dogs, they must heel at your sides or at your backs. This is the only way to remind them that their owners are their pack leaders. These dogs like to do retrieving and they love to dip themselves in a pool of water..

Irish Water Spaniels will live for about 10 – 12 years..

Irish Water Spaniels must have their coats cut a bit shorter on a regular basis. Comb their hair weekly. This will be useful in removing mats that can cause allergies.These dogs only shed a bit.

The Faithful and Protective Hungarian Pulis

The ancestors of these Hungarian Pulis came from Western Asia. These dogs were known to be hardworking dogs. These dogs were constant companions of Nomadic tribesmen who brought them to Eastern Europe.Hungarian Pulis were almost considered extinct after world war 2. Breeders came up with a breeding program that will ensure these dogs would grow in numbers. These dogs were extensively used by Hungarian shepherds as working dogs. These dogs were used as sheep dogs. They were very good at herding the flock. The Hungarian Pulis were very nimble dogs.

Hungarian Pulis are are medium sized dogs. They are solidly built dogs and they are known for their square like looking bodies. Hungarian Pulis are known for their coats that resemble cords. These dogs have well defined boned bodies and these dogs are moderately muscular. Hungarian Pulis have rounded heads that are commensurate to their bodies. If you look at these dogs from the side, their heads would be shaped like eggs. The tails of these dogs curl up moderately over their backs.. The eyes of these dogs are shaped like almonds and their etes are colored dark brown. Hungarian Pulis have fairly sized pigmented black ears. When these dogs become adults, their coats will touch the ground. The coats of these dogs are colored gray, black and some of them are exceptionally colored white.

Hungarian Pulis are peppy, spirited, adorable and trustworthy dogs. They adapt easily to the surroundings where they live in. These dogs are wonderful and they will be good family pets. Owners must be their pack leaders. They should show that they are in control. If the owners are not strong willed, these dogs can be hard to deal with. They will use their own mind and way of thinking. Give these dogs obedience training and socialize them at their early age. Doing these things will make them well rounded dogs. They will know what they can and cannot do. These dogs might not do well with smaller children. Never tease or be rough with these dogs. All members of the family must become their pack leaders. Always connect and communicate with these dogs. They must be given daily exercises and long walks. These things must be done because these dogs have a high energy level.

Hungarian male Pulis will have heights of 16 – 17 ½ inches and females will reach heights of 14 ½ - 16 inches. The males will weigh as much as 25 – 35 pounds while the females will weigh at least 20 – 30 pounds.

Hungarian Pulis can acquire health issues such as hip dysplasia and owners must see to it that they are not suffering from any eye problems.

Hungarian Pulis can live in apartments, homes and even farms. They function quite well in hot and cold weathers. They are moderately active indoors. These dogs must be allowed to roam around in yards that are properly fenced.

When these dogs are young, owners must make sure that their cord like hair don' t get to be entangled.. As the dogs get older, their cord like coats will grow in layers and it will become even. Hungarian Pulis have thick top coats that protects their undercoats. It will take at the most five years for their coats to become fully developed. When their coats are fully developed,  it will take some time to groom their coats. The older dogs will take at least two hours to groom every week. Owners must set the knots apart from each other. They have skin that are quite sensitive. Their coats must be washed every six weeks or two months. It can be quite hard to let the soap sip in to their cords. Make sure that every inch of soap must be removed from their bodies. If there is a bit of soap left, this could cause skin irritations Owners must clip a bit of their coats are around their eyes and their back legs.

The Active and Playful Finnish Spitz Dogs

The Finnish Spitz dogs were first known as Suomenpystrykorva. It means the Finnish Cock Eared dogs and Finnish Barking dogs. Over 2000 years ago they were brought from Central Russia to a place what is now known as Finland. They are considered the national dogs of Finland. These dogs are used to hunt . When they would find their prey, they would make yodel sounds and ringing sounds. This is how their owners know that they had found their prey. The heads of these dogs were pointed to the the location of the animals.

The Finnish Spitz dogs resembles the looks of foxes. Their bodies are square like and muscular. These dogs have leveled heads between their ears and their foreheads are a bit rounded. These dogs have shallow muzzles with well defined stops and it gets wider at the end wherein it is attached to their skulls. It starts to get smaller when it reaches the point of connection. The color of their noses and lips are black. Their teeth are joined in scissor like bites. Their dark colored eyes are shaped like almonds and they do have black rims. Finnish Spitz dogs have high set ears. It stands straight and openly towards the front of the dogs.They have toplines that are flat. Their chests are deep and it goes all the way to their elbows. Their feathered tails curves up over their backs.and goes down towards their sides. Their tails have a lot of hair. Dewclaws can be taken out. These dogs have rounded feet just like cats. Finnish Spitz Dogs have double coats that are short, soft, thick.undercoats and their outer coats are rough looking. They do have a variety of coat colors:golden red, reddish brown, yellowish red and honey.

The Finnish Spitz dogs are active friendly and playful.. Because these dogs are always alert, it makes them excellent watchdogs. They are known to protect their family members. They are weary of strangers. They are known not to be shy or aggressive. They love being with children. These dogs will be fine living with other pets. They will do better if they have been raised with them. These dogs mature at the age of 3 or 4 years old. Finnish Spitz dogs must be socialized at an early age. Expose them to people, sights, sounds and other experiences when they are young. Doing this will make your dogs well rounded. Give them obedience training when they are young. They must know what they can and cannot do. These dogs must know that their owners are their pack leaders. Go out with them on long daily walks. Make sure that they are properly leashed. While walking, they must heel on your sides or at your backs. This way, they will know that their owners are their leaders. Always give them things to do because if not they can act in destructive ways. Be their leaders and not their followers.

Finnish Spitz dogs will reach heights of 15 – 20 inches and they will weigh 31 – 35 pounds

Finnish Spitz dogs are generally healthy but they can also acquire hip dysplasia, patellar luxation and epilepsy.

Finnish Spitz dogs will do fine living in apartment.s This is as long as they are given the right exercises. They are inactive indoors and they prefer climates that are cool.

Finnish Spitz dogs will live for about 12 – 15 years.

Like most arctic dogs, Finnish Spitz dogs have self cleaning coats. Comb their hair regularly in order to remove dead hair. Their coats do not have the usual dog odor. These dogs are heavy shedders and they do shed seasonally.

The Outgoing and Friendly Harriers

The Harrier dogs name was derived from the Norman word Harier. It meant that this breed could have been a hound. It's difficult to identify the backgrounds of these dogs. They might have been scenthounds that were seen in the early 13th century in England. Others say that these dogs were descendants of St. Hubert and Talbot hounds, the French Basset or the Brachet. Being a scent dog, The Harrier dogs tracked down their prey by using their powerful smell and their owners did follow their dogs so easily on foot. These dogs were not only used by the rich but also poor hunters made use of these dogs. Hunters linked their dogs and they did make a good pack. It could have been possible that English Foxhounds were bred with the Harriers dogs early in the early 19th century. This could have produced dogs that were faster and longer legged dogs .

The Harrier dogs looks like the English Foxhounds but they are smaller in size. Their heads are commensurate to the other parts of their bodies. These dogs have moderate stops.Their muzzles are as long as their skulls. Harrier dogs have black noses and their nostrils are wide open. Their teeth are joined together in level scissor like bites. Their expanded ears are averagely sized.The color of their ears are either brown or reddish brown. The ears of these dogs are lowly set and their ears can be seen hanging down beside their cheeks. The ears are rounded at the ends. The topline of their backs are flat. They have legs that are long and rounded like the feet of cats.. They have long tails that are set high. Harriers have short coats, that are fine and shiny. Their coats can be of any color. It is mostly tricolored. lemon and white, red and white or white and tan.

The Harrier dogs are happy, outgoing, cool tempered and very good with children. These dogs will do good with other pet dogs. With other non – canine pets, they may not behave well with them. If they were raised with these other pets when they were puppies, then they can have a good relationship with them. These dogs like to be a part of their owner's family. Harriers are very active dogs. They like to sniff, explore and go trailing around. When going out for long walks with these dogs, owners must put them on a leash. Let them run around in yards that are properly fenced. Harriers are known for their chasing abilities. Owners must be their pack leaders. These dogs must heel by their sides or backs when owners are going on long walks with them. Give them exercises every day. If these dogs are not exercised, they can be destructive. Owners must be calm but show that they are firmly in control. Treat these dogs with care and give them activities to do. If owners do these things, their Harrier dogs will be be contented and feel satisfied.

Harriers will reach heights of 19 – 21 inches and they will weigh 40 – 60 pounds.

Harriers are healthy dogs but they could acquire sicknesses like hip dysplasia and epilepsy.

Harriers are not meant to live in apartments. For these dogs to live in apartments, their owners must have an active lifestyle. They must bring their dogs out every day and jog with them. Go hiking and hunting with these dogs. Harriers are not so active indoors, they will like to roam around large yards.

Harriers are expected to live for about 10 – 12 years.

Harriers have short hair and they can be easily groomed. Every now and then, brush out their dead hair. These dogs are known to be medium shedders.

The Ever Playful Dalmatians

The origin of the Dalmatian breed is a mystery.. These dogs are one of the most exceptional patterned breeds. There have been paintings of dogs that are quite similar to these dogs. These paintings have been found centuries ago. There is a painting of this dog breed that resembles this breed and it was being kept in a Spanish chapel known as Santa Maria Novella in Florence, Italy. Some breeders think that these dogs may have been products of breeding pointers and spotted great danes. The Dalmatians got their names from a region in Croatia known as Dalmatia. There is no real known functions of these dogs. It has been treated a s a shepherd dog, war dog, a retriever, a trailer, a tratter, bird dog and a circus dog. In the Victorian era of England, these dogs, they were known as coach dogs. These dogs protected the horses from scavenging dogs.

Dalmatians are big, sturdy and muscular dogs. The length and width of it's skulls are alike. The top of their heads are leveled.. They possess muzzles that hare as long as the tops of their skulls. Their stops are clearly stated and reasonable. The color of their noses are black, brown dark gray or blue. Their teeth are enjoined in scissor like bites. They have moderately round eyes that are color blue, brown or a mix of both. These dogs have high setting ears that hang downward. It becomes smaller and the tips of their ears are rounded. Their feet are rounded and they do have curved toes. Their toenails are white or black in black marked dogs and brown or white in liver marked dogs. These dogs have fine looking thick hair.Their well proportioned coats are prominently white and they do have well defined round spots. The marked spots can be black or brown and these colors are preferred for dog shows. The marked spots can also be the colors of brindle, lemon, dark blue, tricolored, firmly white or murky black.

Dalmatians that are well bred are faithful and affectionate companions. They surely would like to please their owners. These dogs are great watchdogs.Dalmatians will alert their owners if they feel something is not going right. Dogs of this breed are strong, active and noisy. Expect the young puppies to dig holes in your yard and chew your plants. For this reason, owners must give their dogs obedience training at their young ages. They need to be disciplined. Doing this will tell them want the y can and cannot do. They will surely like their obedience training. These dogs will perform excellently in agility competitions. These dogs are outgoing and they will enjoy trips with the family. Owners must go on long walks with these dogs. Dalmatians must heel by their owner's sides or at their backs. Doing this will tell them that their owners are their pack leaders. These dogs are not accustomed staying in apartments. They will become lazy. Dalmatians need to roam around yards that are properly fenced.

Dalmatians must be BAER Tested ( Brain Auditory Evoked Response ) at 6 weeks old. If they are found to be deaf, then they must be neutralized. They could develop uric acid and urinary stones. These dogs can acquire skin allergies.

Male Dalmatians will reach heights of 22 – 24 inches. Females will attain heights of 20 – 22 inches. These dogs will weigh about 55 pounds.

Dalmatians will live for about 10 – 12 years.

Dalmatians will keep on shedding. It will shed a lot twice a year.. Brush them constantly to avoid too much shedding. They are clean dogs. Give them a bath only when it is necessary.

The Intelligent Eurasiers

The Eurasiers wee createt to be calm family and guard dogs. A German breeder created these dogs by breeding chow chows with wolf spitzes. .A Samoyed male was included into it's bloodlines. They were first known as Wolf Chows. When these dogs were recognized by the Federation Cynologique Internationale in 1973, they were give the name Eurasier. This was done because they wanted to let this dopg breed symbolize their heritage, which are both European and Asian.

These dogs became famous in Germany and Switzerland. They are not known so well in the U.S.A. These dogs were recognized by the United Kennel Club in 1996 nunder the name Eurasian.

The Eurasiers are well adjusted and well built Spitz types of dog. They do come in different kinds of color: light yellowish brown, wolf like gray, red, firm black, black and brown. The Eurasiers have thick undercoats. They also possess loosely lying hair all around their bodies. These dogs also have short coats on their muzzles, faces, ears and legs., Their tails and their hind legs are covered with long hair. The coats on their necks must be a bit longer than their coats on their bodies. Their tongues may have marks of pink, blue-black or marked tongues.

The Eurasiers are intelligent, confident and gentle. These dogs like to feel wanted by the owner's family. They also would act in a way that is pleasing to their owners and family members. These dogs are alert and watchful guard dogs. They are cold to strangers but they are usually not aggressive towards them. These dogs like to go to places. Owners can bring them around but these dogs are not affectionate to people they do not know. The Eurasiers will do fine with children around your homes. They will get along with other pets especially if they were raised up with them. Owners must give them their daily exercise and it is a must for these dogs to go on long walks. Make sure that they heel by your sides or at your backs. Doing this will show them that their owners are the leaders. These dogs at six weeks can be socialized with the owner's family and taught what to do and what not to do. Owners must remember that these are highly intelligent dogs.

The Eurasiers will do well living in apartments. They must be allowed to do their exercises. Make them run around in well fenced medium yards..

These dogs are prone to health issues such as hip and elbow dysplasia, patellar luxation., autoimmune thyroditis and eye problems.

 Male Eurasiers will reach heights of 20 – 24 inches and will weigh 50 – 70 pounds. Female Eurasiers will reach heights of 16 – 18 inches and will weigh as much as 40 – 60 pounds.

Eurasiers will live for about 11 – 13 years.

Eurasiers do not require a lot of grooming. Brush their hair once or twice a week. Check their eyes occasionally for any type of discharge. If there are any discharges, then owners must clean it up. Give them a bath only when it becomes a necessity.

The Friendly Finnish Hounds

The Finnish Hound dogs came into existence by breeding French, German and Swedish hounds. These breedings were done during the 1800's. They became famous as working breeds. These dogs are quite famous in Finland, Sweden and Russia. They are hard to find im other countries.Finnish breeders kept their hounds pure. These dogs were never seen in dog shows. These dog hounds were perfectly suited for doing work in their homeland. This is why they replaced the other scented breeds in their country.

The Finnish Hounds are tri - colored, medium sized and short coated hounds. They are sturdily built but they are not heavy.Males and females will show their own characteristics that are distinct from each other. Their bodies are longer in length when they are compared to their heights.. They have long and wide chests. Their backs are medium in length,straight and muscular. The highest part of their rumps are calmly sloping. The Finnish Hounds have loins that are short and powerful. They have double coats that are medium in length, straight and thick.

The Finnish Hounds are friendly dogs, cool mannered and they are not aggressive. These dogs are very energetic especially when they are hunting. They like to hunt down hares and foxes. They can hunt their prey even in the most difficult circumstances.These dogs like to work independently, The Finnish Hounds are dexterous trackers. They will go after their prey by constantly barking. Owners must be their pack leaders. Doing this will prevent them from having behavioral problems.. Always act confident when you are with them. Owners must communicate with them. Give them constant attention and play with them.

The Finnish Hounds will reach heights of 20 – 24 pounds and will weigh between 45 – 55 pounds

The Finnish Hounds do not have complicated health issues. One major concern of these dogs is cerebral ataxia This happens because of brain lesions. It can cause many interconnected problems because the dogs cannot coordinate it's balance, gait, eye movements and other extremities.

Finnish Hounds are not meant to live in apartments. It will do best in medium sized yards.

Since these dogs have a lot of energy, their owners must bring them for long walks. Always make sure that your dogs must stay by your sides or at your backs. This will show them that their owners are the pack leaders. Give them the opportunity to run and it must be done in places that are safe.

Their short haired coat must be kept in the best condition. Use a firm bristle brush when you brush these dogs. Use mild soap when you give them a bath. Do it only when it is necessary. Their nails must be properly trimmed. They are known to be medium shedders.

The Strong Black Russian Terriers

During the 1940's the Black Russian Terriers were created by the Soviets. They used qualified canines which were taken from occupied countries. They used mainly German breeds and bred them with their own Red Star Kennels. The best of their imported dogs were the Giant Schnautzers. They acquired a Giant Schnautzer whose name was Roy.This Giant Schnautzer was born in 1947.He was extensively bred with the Airedale terrier, Rottweiler and Moscow Water Dog crosses. They were all black and were distinguished from the others as the Black Terrier Group. The best were crossbred between themselves. The second and third generation dogs made their appearances to the public. The project continued and the first family breeding scenario continued. They wanted a dog breed that had ability and versatility. Care was one of the factors that was taken into consideration for conformation purposes. These dogs were so useful for detecting explosives, transporting supplies, guarding duties and looking for wounded soldiers. The Russian Black Terriers were used in Afghanistan and Bosnia.

The Black Russian Terriers are built with strong bodies. It is a dependable guard and military dog. They have large bones and are well muscled dogs. The heads and necks of these dogs are strong. They have weatherproof coats that can resist the absorption of water, while their undercoats protects them from the cold weather. Their coats could be as long as 1.5 inches – 4 inches. Those with longer coats will not be good for the dog's working abilities. Remember that these dogs are working dogs and they must be given consistent training. They respond well to training.They must be given some work to do. If they are not active, they can become bored. They can be quite destructive. Owners must take charge of these dogs and they must show them that they are the pack leaders. These dogs are performers and they are at their best while doing their performances. These dogs will do good in competitions such as agility and obedience competitions.

Black Russian Terriers are calm, brave and self confident. Start training and socializing them at their early ages. They are good with children.and they will guard those children that they are familiar with. They need constant attention and guidance.They might become restrained if you do not mind them.Early socialization is what these dogs need. They need to be exposed to people, sights, sounds and other experiences when they are young. These dogs will be well rounded if they are well socialized. They will also do well with other dogs who live in the same homes.. Bring these dogs for walks but make sure that these dogs heel beside you or at your backs. This is the best way of letting them recognize that the owners are their leaders. Walking them leisurely will get them acquainted with your home surroundings and even with your neighbors.

Black Russian Terriers will reach heights of 25 – 29 years. Females will reach heights of 25 – 28 inches. These dogs will weigh at least 80 – 143 pounds. Male dogs are bigger and more muscular.

Black Russian Terriers are prone to having hip and elbow dysplasia.

These dogs will do alright as long as they are given their daily exercises. They like staying near their owners. Leave them in your yards and they will go from window to window looking for their owners.. They love to be with their owners and family.

Go out with them on long daily walks. These dogs love to play in water and they like rolling over the snow.

These dogs are expected to live for at least 10 – 14 years.

If their coats are soft, then it needs to be stripped a bit. Black Russian Terriers need to be brushed at least once a week. Take out hair that are in their ear ducts and cut the hair under their paws. These dogs shed only a bit, as long as they are brushed weekly.

The Sweet and Loving Flat Coated Retrievers

Flat Coated Retrievers were developed in England in the middle 1800's for the purpose of retrieving birds that have been shot down by hunters. They were known to retrieve these birds in bushy areas and in water. These dogs were developed by crossing many retriever dogs like the following: Labradors, Newfoundlands, Irish Setters and the extinct St. John's Water Dogs. There could have been a bit of Collie bloodlines that was interbred with these dogs. The Flat Coated Retrievers became very famous with sporting hunters until the beginning of World War 1.

These medium sized dogs have nice and  well proportioned bodies. Their bodies look so simple and without exaggeration. Their skull and muzzles seemed to be formed as one piece. Their not like other dogs that have stops and lengths between their muzzles and their skulls. Flat Coated Retrievers have small ears. Their small ears are near the heads of these dogs. They have necks that are a bit long and sturdy. It leads to an even topline and tho their deep chests. They have wired muscled legs that makes them run faster. This means that they can cover a  lot of ground with one stride. They have fully feathered legs, chests and tails. Their medium length coats are thick and fine. The color of thei coats are solid black or yellowish light brown.

Flat Coated Retrievers are excellent companion dogs. These dogs are happy and delightful dogs to have. These dogs love going out These dogs are very affectionate pets.These dogs have a lot of energy packed in them. If they are always kept in the house, they can become lazy. These dogs are forbearing nd they act so calmly when they are with children. These dogs will run and play with children. Children can play fetch the ball with them. They need to feel that they are part of the family. These dogs are highly trainable and obedient. If the training is repetitive they can become bored. These dogs can be more deliberate than other retrieving dogs. These dogs can become so sensitive to vocal tones. Do not use harsh training methods when training these dogs. Give positive methods of training and they will respond very well. Bring these dogs for long walks or jog with them. Just make sure when you walk with these dogs, they must walk beside you or at your backs. This will show them that their owners are the pack leaders.

These dogs are very happy roaming around in homes that have yards. They are not suited for apartment living. They will perform well during agility, tracking and retrieving competitions.

Flat Coated Retrievers will have heights of 22 – 23 inches and will weigh as much as 60 – 70 pounds.

These dogs are proned to cancer, coronary heart disease, hip dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy, and not so common diabetes.
Their life expectancy is 10 years..

The Flat Coated Retrievers coats needs to be brushed every week and their coats need to be trimmed a bit. These dogs are average shedders.

The Protective American Shepherd Dogs

These American Shepherd Dogs were created mainly in America. They were developed using the blood lines of White German Shepherds. It is the genetic makeup- of the German Shepherd that makes them completely white. Their existence came about because breeders wanted to distinguish them from darker wolves who threatened the livestock of farm owners. In the year 1960 these dogs were firmly established as a breed.

These American White Shepherd Dog have a formidable and magnificent look. Their bodies are a bit longer when they are compared to their heights. They have slim but strong bodies. Their foreheads are a bit wide. American White Shepherd Dogs have long muzzles, pointed ears and and oval shaped shaped eyes. These dogs have a friendly expression on their faces. Their necks do slope down going through their muscular shoulders down to their legs. Their rear legs are solidly built and their are a bit bushy.

American White Shepherd Dogs have the natural instincts to protect their owners and family members. They like  to play and work. Socialize them when they are young with family members. Give them obedience training so that they know what they can and cannot do.. These dogs will do fine with other pets in your homes. These dogs are aloof and wary of other people they do not know. They are good with children. They are known to herd children. Doing this means keeping them safe. They will bark if they feel someone is threatening the children. These dogs are known to have sharp instincts and prolific minds. Give them lots of activities and exercises so that they will remain to be happy Tracking, obedience and agility games will make them much more happier. Be sure to give these dogs long daily walks because they do have a lot of energy. Make them walk by your side or at your backs. This will show them that their owners are their pack leaders..

These dogs will do fine living in apartments, as long as they get the proper exercises they need daily. They are not active indoors. They need a well fenced large yard to roam around.

Some common health issues are hip dysplasia., joint problems and eye sicknesses. They are also prone to bloat issues . Owners must feed them in small portions.

American Shepherds will have heights of 22 – 26 inches and will weigh as much as 77 – 85 pounds.

They are expected top live for about 12 years.

These dogs need to be brushed daily or else you may see hair scattered around your homes. They do shed bits of hair continuously. They are heavy shedders. Give them a bath when it becomes a necessity. Always check their ears and trim their claws on a regular basis.

The Fearless Ainu Dogs

The Ainu Dogs are known to be one of the oldest \breeds of dogs in the dogs in the world now.. These dogs were were bred by the Ainu tribe who settled in hokkaido. E known to hunt deer, salmon and bears. They were hun ters that could survivr the extremely cold weather. Their descendants are medium sized dogs that thyat were br caninesought in by migrants about 3,000 yearsa ago.. Despite it's closeness to the Ainu people, they are called Hokkaido – Ken by the Japanese people. Their characters have changed over the years and this is  because of cross – breeding.

The Ainu Dogs are medium sized and they  have a lot strength and power packed in them. Their double coats will keep these dogs warm during the cold season. The3y are known to have light colors. Their common colors are white, gray and light yellowish brown. They look fearsome and this is because of their small dark brown eyes, thei wide headpointed muzzles, whivh includes a black nose. Thes dogs have small ears that are pointed sharply. With this feature, it makes them look more alert. Their tongues are mostly covered with black spots. This might mean that hey could be related to the chow chow.

The Ainu Dogs are good guard dogs because they are so strong. They are suspicious of people they do not know. They are very brave and faithful dogs. Give them obedience training when they are young. Socialize them with your family. They will not do good with little children and other animals that live in the same premises. These dogs have an ingarained sense of directiuon. This allows these kinds of dogs to return to their owners even if they are so far away. The Ainu dogs are known for their howling. They do make sounds like wolves when it has done it's job well.. They are active dogs and apartment living is not meant for them. They need to go for long walks every day with their owners./ These dogs must be able to run around in medium sized yards that are properly fenced. These are active dogs and they must not be kept bored. Giving them men tal and physuical exercises will make them better behaved dogs.

Thyey do have commkon dog health issue since they have been cross bred and they can inherit these problems.

The Females will give birth to at least 7 puppies.

They are expected to live for 14 years

The Ainu dogs will have heights of 18 – 22 inches and they can weigh 45 – 65 mpounds.

Their rough double coats should be brushed regularly
