Tiger, tiger

Yesterday my father died. he lived quite like a tiger, always hunting, more on instinct than on thought, many times. That may work very well for tigers, but for people, you often find that the tiger in you can drive people fearfully away. It can leave you rather solitary.

Happy Birthday, Mom

Today is mama's birthday. She's 83. I chose this picture for her birthday because I would like to give her flowers. But her bedroom is pretty sanitized, ICU fashion, and she is sensitive to bacteria. Everything beyond the flowers is a blur. Just like each day has been, one after the other, for so very, very, long. Mama's happy ending will come sooner than mine, but once i get there, time will have no meaning at all, anyway.

From top to bottom:

On the same day that i photographed mom in pieces, i took these two photos -- mom's hair, and mom's big toe. Her heart, i always carry within me.

3 generations of feet

What you are looking at are 3 generations of feet. My mom's feet can't walk anymore, though they move from side to side. My foot is beside hers. She was in the hospital a month ago, so i took pictures of parts of her and me, and this is one of those photos. i can walk as well as any other old lady, though my right leg seems less vulnerable than the left. The feet on the right are my daughter's. she took them herself, while she was in the park. note the havaiianas and nail polish, haha. We walk through each day and wonder where the future leads. then one day, our feet don't do the walking. and someday there's the happy ending. in heaven, i am told that we can fly. even better, our hearts soar.

the story is in the eyes

Looka my eyes and tell me i'm an old dog.

Winnie's sneer

This is how she looks when she plans to do something she thinks i won't like, and get away with it.

Not all pigeons are found in italy. tahanan village has some, too.

surprising pigeons

We have pigeons in our park! Now i don't need to go to italy to see them.

From the back

Sometimes, the view from the back looks even nicer.
